Hello everyone,
It's been a long time since I posted and I promised someone I would begin writing my blog again but it has been a busy, busy time. As you know from the last posting my middle daughter Tiffany was getting married. She is now Mrs. Christopher Michael. The picture above is from their wedding. They are doing well. They went on a cruise for their honeymoon and have also purchased a very nice home here in our area. She also began a new job at a local grocery store since the furniture store she worked at went out of business in May.
Heather has been spending lots of time being a mom and giving her daughter Jamie lots of love. Her husband David is deployed with the 927th and we miss him terribly. We pray for his safety and that of his troops. Please keep them covered in prayer for their safety and safe return. Jamie is now in preschool and loves it. We have been to see her Thanksgiving and her Christmas plays and they were so cute!! Jamie is now four and is a little ball of character. I enjoy it when she comes over.
Rochelle is doing well. She is working at the same grocery store as Tiffany and will make a year there next month. She is expecting a little baby around June 3rd. We are supposed to find out on Monday, 13th of January what she is having. Will it be a little Declan James or a little Darcy Jane? We will have to wait and see. I can't wait to find out so I can make stuff LOL
My David is finally finished with his Master's degree and will begin sending out his resume to churches. Please be prayerful for God's path to be clear for us. He is now feeling lost with the extra time on his hands and wants a hobby that uses his hands.
Between November 2012 and February last year we lost some very dear people from our lives. My friend Bro. Cedric Carroll passed away on November 24th. He along with Bro. Sam Jones were instrumental in leading me to Christ. I want to live my life as he did, always caring and always enjoying what God blessed him with, showing God's love through the way he lived his life.
On December 24th my friend Shannon Patterson passed away she left behind 7 kids and a whole lot of people who were touched by her generosity and capacity to love. Then, on February 13th, 2013 after a long illness my father left us. It was the day after Mom and Dad's 47th wedding anniversary. We had spent the day at their house and he had walked out under his own power to sit with the family and we celebrated with them. Later that night he had a massive stroke and died at the hospital. We miss him so much but each day is a new step closer to him as we ourselves draw closer to the days when we get called to our Heavenly home. We are never promised tomorrow or even all of today. Cherish your days and live them as well as you can. I can only hope that at the end of this life people will be able to say how much I loved my family, my friends, strangers and most of all how much they know I love the Lord.
I am staying busy. I spend a lot of time running with Mom, crocheting and homemaking. I have actually been able to sell a few of the things I've crocheted. I would love to sell more of the stuff I make. We shall see. It is something that I really love to do and even though you never get what your time is worth in the craft business, you really get just as much reward seeing the enjoyment of the person receiving the item. Mostly I just crochet gifts for Christmas or other gifts. 99.9% of my gift giving is hand made.
Mom is doing ok and we also welcomed two new family members. December 7th my brother got married to Dianza and they welcomed their eighth child (combined) on Christmas Eve. It was a girl weighing 6 pounds, 8 ounces and 18 inches long. Her name is Cecelia Mae. She's just so pretty but then again I am biased :)
Today we wait out unusually cold temperatures for our south Louisiana home. Tonight's lows are expected to be around 18 degrees and the house is struggling to stay warm, but its not as cold as outside so I am thankful. We have heaters running full blast but the house is above ground so it's hard to keep warm when the dogs keep needing to go outside.
Well, I guess that about updates everyone so now I have to keep up. I hope this posting finds everyone happy, healthy, and safe. Take care and God bless.
