Newer news

Hello everyone,

I regret that I don't post as often as I would like to. We always seem to be so busy, and if I am honest about it, it just isn't as fun to blog since my girls are not all living with me anymore. They always kept things so lively.  I still have Rochelle here but I feel guilty if I only write about her. But, I am going to update you all anyway.

Rochelle is in her final weeks of pregnancy. Just 6 weeks left 'til her due date. We are anticipating the arrival of little Declan James! Yes, you read it right, she is having a little boy. His due date is June 3rd.  She has had a blissfully easy pregnancy for which I am thankful to God. He must have known its what she needed. Our little grandson is estimated to be 5lbs 9 oz as of yesterday's ultrasound and still has time to grow. I can't wait to meet him. Rochelle has all kinds of hopes and dreams for his little life and I can tell she will be a really good mom. Even before he is born she has started preparing for him. She loves this little life more than anything and every step of her pregnancy has been thought out carefully so she can do what's best for him. I'm proud of her.

Tiffany and Chris have given me a fur grand-baby and his name is Colt. He's a chocolate lab and very energetic. He also has Tiffany wrapped around his little paw.

Heather and Jamie are doing well. We all can't wait for David to come home from Afghanistan. Just a little while longer and they can rest in his arms again. I am so thankful that God has kept him safe thus far and we continue to pray daily for the safety of him and his troops. Jamie is in little school and really seems to enjoy it.  I get to see them every once in a while and I get to spend "Grammy" time which is the most awesome thing on earth! Just recently I got to spend time "planting vegetables from seeds," as Jamie says it and we explored what little creatures hide in our yard. She took extra special pleasure in being able to paint her Poppi's frog for him since the weather washed all the color off. Her Poppi loves it and it now takes up special residence with his row of frogs on the porch.  Just the other day I showed her that the plants she planted were sprouting and she was really excited to tell everyone that she did a great job.

David is finished with his master's degree and has begun sending out resume's to churches. He also was able to lead his first funeral service the other day. If God is willing we hope to go on a mission trip to Moldova next year. He fell in love with the Moldovan people and wants to return.

Please remember David's mom in your prayers as she found out she has breast cancer. Just today she has had a double mastectomy.

This past Easter we had a great time barbecuing with our family and playing 8 person Aggravation. I love playing with a bunch of people, especially when none of us really care who wins or loses, we are just in it for the fun. It's the best!

I guess I end this post in anticipation of all the wonderful things I know the Lord is going to do in our lives. It is easy to get depressed sometimes and wonder what if, but when it comes down to it, I know who my God is and I am able to dust myself off,  thank Him for the blessings He so lovingly bestows and move forward because He is my hope, my comfort and my refuge.

I love you all and hope this post finds you happy, healthy, safe and blessed.
